I’m Jaiya Jermulowske, and I’m thrilled to guide you on this exciting journey toward becoming a confident and responsible babysitter. Whether you’re caring for younger siblings, neighbors, or stepping into your very first babysitting job, this course is designed to equip you with the essential skills you need to succeed.
A little about me—I’ve always known I wanted to be an educator. That passion began when I was a young girl babysitting back in my neighborhood. My love for working with children has been the driving force in my life, leading me to earn a Master’s degree in Elementary Education with an endorsement in Outdoor Environmental Education. Before diving into babysitting full-time, I had an amazing career working with youth in outdoor camp settings, teaching them about the wonders of nature. But with myself becoming a mom, I ventured into Babysitting and caring for children in a different setting.
My journey eventually brought me to Steamboat Babysitting Company, where I discovered so much joy. I worked as a babysitter while also running the company from behind the scenes. Then I became the owner in 2018. Even now, I still love babysitting, especially the little ones, because my children are older and in elementary school. My experience spans all ages—from infants to 12-year-olds—and I’m excited to share this wealth of knowledge with you through this course and through blog post resources.
